The Catalina 445 was Boat of the Year when introduced in 2009. Her 5 foot wing keel, stiffened hull, and tall rig make her quick on long passages. Easy sail handling from the cockpit, wide weather decks, and spacious dual helm cockpit give the captain and crew confidence while at sea. Fast and strong, she is ideal for a couple with long range cruising in mind. The "third" cabin which can be used as a "garage", tool room, massive storage locker or a spare double cabin provides plenty of flexibility.

Bavaria Yachts’ engineering is refined to the nth degree. Hulls are laid up by hand, with fiberglass skins sandwiching Airex foam, reverting to a solid fiberglass laminate below the waterline and in way of any through-hull fittings. The deck is also foam-cored, with aluminum plates providing extra strength where deck gear is mounted. Holes for fasteners, hatches and other openings are cut by a CNC robot to ensure exact tolerances.
A structural pan is laminated into the hull to stiffen the boat and spread keel and rig loads, and the main structural bulkhead is laminated in place. There’s also a collision bulkhead in the bow. Cast iron ballast is carried low in a flattened bulb in both the deep and shoal-draft keel options. The Seldén 9/10ths fractional rig comes standard with in-mast furling, and is deck-stepped with swept-back spreaders. The cap and lower shrouds are taken to chainplates at the gunwales.

“Hi Perry, We thought you'd like to have an update. We're happy to report things are going very well with the trip home. The boat is exceeding expectations. She's handling the water like a champion! D has been doing approximately 140 NM a day and spent last night in Quebec City. He's hoping to be in Baie Comeau tonight. They're hoping to arrive home on Saturday. We will be sure to let you know when they arrive. Thank you again for everything you've done for us. Kind Regards,”

"Working with Rob to buy my first sail boat was a great experience. He took the time to understand my level of experience and the type of sailing my family was hoping to do in the coming years - this was especially important given this was my first boat. Very quickly Rob lined up boats to look at that met the criteria and budget. Rob took the time to explain the difference between each boat we looked at and how this would play into my short and longer term plans. Before long we negotiated a deal on a 2003 Beneteau 393 in NY State. Rob [and Breezeway] gave great advice around surveying the boat and importing into Canada. I took delivery in May and we brought her to her new home in the Thousand Islands. As an added bonus, Rob's experience and local connections have streamlined various projects I now have planned for the boat."

“I’m enjoying the boat. Sailing all day yesterday. Boat has been easy to handle and seems to sail pretty nice. I’m still a little uncomfortable docking as it’s a little tight there in Barrie, but otherwise I’m totally happy with my purchase. Thanks,”

“Wahoo. Thanks a million Perry that was going over and above the call of duty. I just called D and she will stop by this afternoon for the keys. I hope to get down tonight to move it. Have a Great Day."
